Job Title: Mentor Coach
Location: Hamblen County
Education/Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field and experience in professional development coaching.
- Obtain and retain CLASS Assessor Reliability certification.
- Experience in applying adult learning principals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge and experience in data analysis.
- Ability to work with a diverse population of professional and para-professional teaching staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively to accomplish program goals.
- Empathy for low income families.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop rapport with teaching staff to sustain a collaborative coaching relationship.
- Conduct CLASS assessments and enter data into Head Start Child Plus Database.
- Analyze CLASS assessment data and generate reports compared to CLASS national averages.
- Develop a coaching priority list and training plans from CLASS assessment results.
- Complete weekly site visit logs that include specific coaching plans and resources to support staffs’ professional development.
- Submit week observations/reports/schedule to Education Manager.
- Support staff in developing individual professional goals with specific steps to achieve those
- Provide on-site coaching to support staff in achieving professional goals.
- Utilize a variety of coaching methods and techniques that support staff’s individual learning styles.
- Develop and conduct small and large group training on effective teaching practices.
Hours and Benefits: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week, School Year; Non-Exempt.
