You can make or repair toys and classroom materials. You can also help a child at the woodworking table.
Do you like to talk and meet new people?
You can read or tell stories to the children.
Do you collect things?
You can share favorite collections i.e. coins, rocks, etc. with the children, or you can help with art projects by saving items that can be recycled in the classroom.
Do you have a special talent?
You can bring a musical instrument and play for the children, sing with the children, or help a child at the computer.
Do you like to help children succeed?
You can give individual attention to a child who needs a little extra support.
You can become active in your community and discuss concerns and work with staff for improvement. Inviting speakers from local agencies, government and public service organizations to help everyone learn about what is going on and what can be done to make things better.
The sense of self-worth and personal contributions to the quality of life for children and families will give you a sense of confidence in yourself.
